The purpose of this blog is to discuss and raise awareness for issues related to and surrounding embryo adoption. All of the posts shared here will reflect and assume these 5 core values:
- Human embryos are individuals in their earliest stage of life. They are made uniquely and perfectly in the image of God. Genesis 1:27
- As such, they are endowed with certain unalienable rights, including and beginning with the right to life. Exodus 20:13
- Human embryos created through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) have a right to their own biological family. To avoid confusion, we will not discuss nor debate the ethical dilemma of creating embryos with donor eggs/sperm vs. adopting those who were already created in surplus during an IVF cycle. We seek to bind the hearts of the brokenhearted, not conceive more persons living without their biological families. Psalm 147:3
- Adoption is God’s beautiful providential plan for embryos who were not gestated by their biological family for any reason. We, as adoptive parents, are like ambassadors, living and extending the hope of Jesus to these precious miracles. Their existence is no mistake. Although their formation began in a different location than some, they are perfectly and wonderfully created. Human embryos are skillfully woven together by God with intrinsic value, purpose, and intention. Psalm 139:14-15, Jeremiah 29:11
- Our speech should be gentle, honoring, and respectful toward those involved in the creation and adoption of human embryos. In regard to biological families with excess embryos, always compassionate and understanding. Many IVF patients are suffering the heartache of decisions they never knew they’d have to make at the onset of an already difficult infertility journey. 2 Tim 2:24, Romans 12:10
